Avatar is a 2009 American science fiction epic film written and directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez and Stephen Lang. The film is set in the year 2154, when humans are mining a precious mineral called unobtanium on the lush moon Pandora in the Alpha Centauri star system. Analysis of poster
This poster is a high concept teaser poster. This poster shows us a bit about the genre of the film, from looking at the poster the film will be in space we can tell this because of the little stars around the face of the allien, we also know this film will be animated because of the creature that we can see and because of the space age look of the poster. The font of the words avatar at the bottom suggest this film will be in a different planet.
This poster was also brought out for promotional uses. It does not show much information about the film it just shows us this allien. It promotes the director and it also makes us know the film will be successful because it says from the director of titanic. titanic was a very successful film so if the same director that directed titanic is directing this film it must also be successful, this will attract people to watching the film because they will have it in their minds before they watch it that it will be good.
